Activated carbon filter type:

Physical adsorption: Adsorption caused by intermolecular forces;

Chemical adsorption: Adsorption caused by chemical bonding forces;

Ion AC adsorption: Solute ions are collected on the charged points on the surface of the adsorbent due to electrostatic attraction and replace other ions originally fixed on these charged points.

Core parameters affecting the design of activated carbon filter:

①Air velocity of empty tower: Generally refers to the linear velocity through the cross-sectional area of the tower under operating conditions, the unit is m / s, generally 0.5 ~ 1.2m / s, if the amount of exhaust gas is large and the concentration of pollutants is low Take a larger point, it is recommended to take 0.8m / s for laboratory waste gas treatment;

② Filtering wind speed: 0.2 ~ 0.6m / s;

③ Filtration retention time: 0.2 ~ 2s;

④Carbon layer thickness: h = 0.2 ~ 0.5m,

⑤Carbon layer spacing: 0.3 ~ 0.5m. Properties of activated carbon particles: average diameter dp = 0.003m, apparent density ρs = 670kg / m3, bulk density ρB = 470 kg / m3, porosity 0.5 ~ 0.75, take 0.75.
